Star Trek

Paramount synopsis: From director J.J. Abrams (MI:III, Lost and Alias) and screenwriters Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci (Transformers, MI:III) comes a new vision of the greatest space adventure of all time

This Star Trek explores the early Starfleet careers of future Enterprise officers Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Scotty (Simon Pegg), Amanda Grayson (Winona Ryder), Uhura (Zoe Saldana), McCoy (Karl Urban), Sulu (John Cho), and Chekhov (Anton Yelchin). A Romulan, Nero (Eric Bana), and a much older Spock (Leonard Nimoy) are influences, as well as Captain Pike (Bruce Greenwood), the second captain of the USS Enterprise.

Haha, I can't believe they did that in the second trailer...

Amidst the action and star-trekiness, they have a lady taking off her top with no context at all...
Either way, 2 awful trailers for what could possibly be an alright film.

Haha, and Spok is... Syler?
From Heroes :D

So, I have my son protesting at a lady taking her top off for no reason... *daddy falls over backwards in dead faint*

Oh, and I didn't hate the second trailer, I thought there were some nice touches in it... doing a prequel about Kirk and Spock will be, erm, 'fascinating'...

Like I said.
The film might be... 'fascinating' as you put it.
But the trailer was oddly cut...

I didn't like it anyway : )

i agree that the cutting was agressive and unsubtle, more like a trailer for heroes than for a cinema release... however, as someone whose first experience of tv sci-fi was star trek, i find the re-imagining 'intriguing'
